Service Description

This is an ISTD advanced Modern syllabus based class where students focus on learning the set and free exercises to work towards taking an ISTD Modern exam when they are ready. (Examinations aren’t a necessity, they are an opportunity for students should they like it). This class is open to any advanced student/experienced adults looking to either learn the syllabus, keep up their technique and strength or simply have the opportunity to attend a dance class that still offers a challenge both physically and/or mentally. If you are unsure if this class will work for you just contact Viki for more information. - About the style of dance: Modern theatre is a highly energetic, rhythmic dance style which originated in America before travelling to the rest of the world. It is a broad genre which covers lyrical styles as well as uptempo Jazz and musical theatre styles. Complementing Ballet and Ballet technique well, Modern is a great dance style to bring energy, dynamics and fun to dancing. Steps such as Kicks, leaps and turns are in the ISTD Modern syllabus which works on strength and flexibility.
